Historic Barn Roof Installation: Waldun Premium A-1 Cedar Shakes

  • Material Selection: Installed Waldun Premium A-1 Tapersawn Cedar Shakes (7/8" x 24").

  • Installation Exposure: Laid shakes at a 7.5” exposure to ensure optimal coverage and historic architectural proportions.

  • Underlayment Defense: Applied a 30 lb. course asphalt split felt moisture barrier beneath the shake layer.

  • Corrosion-Proof Fastening: Secured the entire system using heavy-duty 2 1/4” stainless steel ring shank fasteners to ensure maximum wind resistance and prevent fastener corrosion.
